Touch screen kits include touch screen
sensor and touch controller; its accuracy
and convenience are from the performance and
reliability of the touch controller’s
software. Based on Windows operating
systems, PenMount software utility provides
several outstanding functions such as …
(1) Three methods for simulating right click
functions of the mouse
(2) Supports multiple monitors function
(3) "Mouse Emulation" and "Touch on Click"
selection
(4) Support Display Rotation function
(5) Detect device function
and many more.
Touch screen kits are now often used in
place of mouse devices. When a touch screen
is activated by touch, the default function
is left click and double click emulation of
the mouse; however, there are various
functions of Windows system enabling the
mouse right click function. PenMount
software offers simulating right click
functions of the mouse; one of these is the
“Press and Hold as Right Click”, user can
select the length of time, decide the size
of the pressed area according to the display
size. Another one is the “Right Button
Icon”, you can select to have the “right
button icon” displayed on desktop or in the
system tray.
In some applications, touch screen is
required to simulate all the functions of
the mouse; however, in certain applications,
the “drag and draw” function of the mouse is
not required. PenMount driver satisfies
these different requirements and offer two
touch modes, the “Mouse Emulation” and the
“Click on Touch”, for customer’s option.
Under “Mouse Emulation” mode, touch screen
simulates all functions of the mouse, user
is able to drag and draw, draw lines, open
right button, single-click, double-click,
etc. when operating touch screen. Under
“Click on Touch” mode, user is able to do
the single-click and double-click functions
when operating touch screen; drag and draw
function is not available in this mode, this
is to avoid user moving any object on the
display screen. The right click function of
mouse is also available.
When rotating the display angle
of the Windows system, the touch screen
display angle would need to be rotated as
well; this means the touch controller has to
detect new display angle and automatically
change the cursor moving direction. The PenMount
team continually updates its driver
for display rotation function.; based on
Windows 2000, XP, Vista operating systems,
PenMount Windows Universal Driver support
Windows API (Application Programming
Interface) display rotate function. No
matter what display chipset is used, as long
as the driver of the chipset
supports Windows API display rotation
function, the cursor will change moving
direction correspondingly, there is no need
to re-calibrate the touch screen. Most
PenMount controller users are very
appreciative of this convenient and
brilliant function.
Some VGA chipset driver supports multiple
monitors function based on Windows operating
system, this is either in the same Windows
Desktop or extension Windows desktop. For
PenMount software, multiple monitors
function operates like display change
application; PenMount Windows Universal
Driver also support supports multiple
monitors function. To enable PenMount
Multiple Monitors function, you need to
set-up first the display setting on Windows
system.
PenMount Windows Universal Driver V2.1.0.207
is the latest released software, it supports
all series of PenMount controller. If you
want to add / remove PenMount devices after
driver is installed, you can plug / unplug
PenMount controller then click “Refresh”
button to configure. This is a convenient
function for testing and quality control.
