PenMount Touch Controller Switch Settings

PenMount touch controller series of 6000, 9000 and 5000 support 4, 5 and 8 wire touch screens. As the controller sensing theory for 4, 5 and 8 wire touch screens is different from each other, the PenMount control board is thus designed with a switch on board for selection of 4, or 5 or 8 wire type of touch screen it is to be bundled with.

Even though there is already a proliferation of the Plug-N-Play USB in the market, there are still some industrial computers without the PNP design. And as such, PenMount RS-232 touch controller series provide supports for both the PNP and Non-PNP modes, and for 9600bps and 19200bps baud rates, with a selectable switch.

 Below are PenMount touch controllers with built-in switches for 4- , 5- or 8-wire touch screens selection;
(1)   PM6300, 4-/5-/8-wire USB control board

(2)   PM6200C & PM6500, 4-/5-/8-wire RS-232 and USB combo card
(3)   PM9036BH, 4-/5-/8-wire RS-232 control board
PenMount PM6500, PM6200C and PM9036BH are also with on-board switch for PNP/Non-PNP selection and 19200/9600bps baud rate selection.

In some applications, user can set the RS-232 port to Non-PNP mode. To set to
Non-PNP mode, only the RX and TX signal pins need be connected to the PenMount RS-232 control board; the operating system should be Microsoft Windows 2000 or later; select the Non-PNP mode from the built-in switch on the PenMount control board. For an optimized Non-PNP settings, bundle it with the PenMount Non-PNP driver. Only PM9036BH RS-232 board has Non-PNP driver support, if you have applications using Non-PNP mode, please choose PM9036BH. The Non-PNP driver for PM6500 and PM6200C will be ready in Q3 of this year; user can download them directly from our website.

If the distance between the touch screen with PenMount board and the system is longer than 5 meters, and with the possibility of the connecting cable running through high frequency or high voltage area, user can set baud rate to 9600bps for a better and more stable signal.
