PenMount's Touch Screen of Resistive Type, the Touch Window

Over the decade, while a touch panel was applied to an HMI or a Tablet PC, it was either attached to the LCD or assembled to the bezel, so that it integrates with the entire system. Today, however, many new touch panels emerge with designs in consideration of the overall look and IP code (International Protection Rating). Taking PenMount's Touch Window for example, it not only meets market demands but also realizes those new thoughts of system designers. With Touch Window, a seamless system structure that is also resistant to water and dust and also pleasing to the eye and highly solid in the meantime is accessible.

When a customer requires a Touch Window, he / she will definitely also consider the controller for Touch Window to work with. Except for supporting the standard 4-, 5-, 8-wired resistive touch panels, PenMount controllers also provide the Touch Window with full support.

The designs of Touch Window are distinguished between 3 main types:

First of all is the type of a pure Touch Window. It has no fixed button designed on it and it only needs to connect to a PenMount controller to function.

The second one is a Touch Window of analog matrix type. Such Touch Window deals with a touch panel built-in with both matrix and analog touch zones, between which the matrix zone has fixed sized buttons. And in order to facilitate the assembly, the circuiting will be integrated to one single tail that goes out and then connects to PenMount controller while matrix circuiting is in fact controlled by GPIO(General Purpose I/O)。

The third type is the resistive Touch Window plus touch switch of other technologies such as capacitive or membrane. With this type, the tail of resistive touch zone goes out and connects to PenMount controllers while the capacitive/membrane touch switch connects to GPIO, and this depends on your decision.

Besides, you can also relate the frequently-used functions directly to the PenMount controller such as to adjust or enable/disable the volume or display brightness. The communication between the touch panel and your system is undertaken through USB interface. PenMount team is ready to discuss with you about your customized amount and functions for buttons and also the development of your exclusive firmware for the controller to send out USB-HID (Human Interface Device) message to the system. Hence, for any development work you require, your contact is always welcome.
