Input through touch screens is no longer
confined on industrial computers and human
machine interfaces. At present, touch
control is getting even more and more
popularity in the application of home
automation. In the past, some of our
customers write their own firmware into the
controller IC of their HMI products. But as
touch controller is getting less and less
expensive and more and more commonly used,
the ready-made touch control IC becomes a
good choice for manufacturers. In this
situation, PenMount is in the position of
providing the customers with SDK (Software
Development Kit) that enables system
companies to develop their own software
drivers or the application software that
makes the solution package more complete.
The SDK provided by PenMount covers 2
documents, one is Software Development
Manual, the other is Application Programming
Interface (API).

Software Development Manual
In Software Development Manual, various
protocols are defined for PenMount.
Although PenMount drivers have supported
various operating systems, in case the
customers cannot use the ready-made OS
drivers provided by PenMount, and want
to develop their own drivers, PenMount
Development Manual is necessary.

Application Programming Interface
API is intended for the reference of the
developers of application programs. The
API provided by PenMount makes it
possible for developers to integrate
related touch functions into the
application program and thus give the
touch functions to full play.
PenMount provides the following API
functions:

Touch Screen Calibration Interface
Customer’s wish to reconcile PenMount’s
calibration interface with the visual
image of their application program can
be fulfilled through PenMount API.

Gestures
21 gestures are available with PenMount.
The API provided by PenMount can be
configured to perform the specific
gestures that you define.

Touch Coordinate Interface
If you wish to change system’s cursor to
your own design, get current touch
coordinates via PenMount API, and draw
your own cursor there.

Accessing Device Data
PenMount controller’s firmware editions,
PenMount driver editions and the A/D bit
of PenMount controllers etc. are all
accessible.
