PenMount is historically Taiwan’s oldest
brand of Resistive Touch Screen Controller.
With an accumulated 17 years of products
experience, we are able to closely follow
and meet market demands on technology and
functionality. We would like to extend our
appreciation to many of our customers over
the years for their valued recognition and
appreciation of PenMount controllers;
therefore, contributing to our successfully
entering the various different application
fields, such as factory automation
equipment, Human Machine Interface, Medical
Equipment, Kiosk, Tablet PC & UMPC, and many
more.
The software, hardware, and firmware of
PenMount touch controller series are
designed to meet all types of resistive
touch screen with impedance ranging from 30
to 1300 ohm, thus, PenMount touch controller
series can work with 4-, 5-, and 8- wire
resistive touch screens in the market of
different brands, such as ELO in U.S.A.,
Gunze, DMC in Japan, AMT in Taiwan, Korea’s,
China’s, and others.
How can we measure the impedance of
resistive touch screen? In 4- and 8- wire
resistive touch screens, we will need to
identify each pin assignment of the tail in
advance from the specifications provided us;
the touch screen impedance can be derived
from the DVM which is used to measure X+
with X- and Y+ with Y- . For 5-wire
resistive touch screen, we will also need to
make sure of the pin assignment mapping in
advance. To get X axis impedance, we will
need to parallel connect the upper right
with lower right and upper left with lower
left first. After finishing the parallel
connection, measure the two common points to
derive the X axis impedance. Of course, we
can also get Y axis impedance from the
points by parallel connection of the Upper
right with Upper left and Lower right with
Lower left.
Advanced resistive touch technologies are
being developed rapidly in the market today
due to its popularity of use and to meet all
kinds of work environment. Aside from the
traditional 4-,5- & 8-wire Film on Glass
touch screen, there are many other types of
resistive touch screen product in the
market, such as the polarizer touch screen
(also known as Low Reflective), the
Glass-Film-Glass which has a thin glass
laminated on the top of the traditional
Film-Glass resistive touch screen; there is
also the EMI-shielding touch screen; the
Frameless Touch Screen (also called Touch
Window) and many more. The PenMount touch
controller series of products is your best
solution for the Resistive Touch Screen.
In the year 2009, PenMount announced a new
solution to support the Multi-Finger
resistive touch screen, with its controller
chip solution called M1, and PM 6250 for its
control board. The size of the multi-finger
touch panel can range from 3” to 22” ; the
controller supports from 1 up to 12 touch
zones for multiple finger operation.
PenMount has devoted itself to provide
Multi-finger touch solution; the M1 series
support Microsoft Windows XP and Vista to
make the most of the available application
programs and extend its ability and option
with multiple touches; hence it is not
necessary to make multi-touch programs that
work only on Microsoft Windows 7. PenMount
Multi-Finger touch solution provides an easy
way for the user to use its driver and
value-added utilities. PenMount also
provides SDK (software development kit) to
customer working with Microsoft Windows
operating systems, allowing developers to
build and design their own program. For
further information of this solution, please

PenMount’s hardware and software are
designed to meet the needs and demands of
the market; and if you have any specific
requirements of your own, we would be most
glad and ready to offer our full support and
assistance in your product development. For
