Touch system technologies are presenting new
design concepts for product development;
It’s not only reliant on the new operating
systems but on touch panel, controller,
driver, and applications as well. When
Microsoft started including touch system
into Windows XP tablet PC edition and VISTA,
they developed the Origami service for image
enlargement. Then there is the Windows 7
official version coming out in October; it
keeps the touch concept of the Win XP tablet
PC edition and Vista and gives more
convenient touch functions to Notebook, Netbook, UMPC, All-in-One PC, Tablet PC and
other computer devices.
The PenMount series have two kinds of driver
under Windows operating systems.
(1) Mouse Emulation Device Universal
Driver
The PenMount Windows Universal Driver
provides computer mouse function to touch
system and provides also left and right key
operating features. PenMount driver from
version 2.1.0.207 and up and under Windows
XP and VISTA, supports Windows 7 and
emulates computer mouse drag, click, double
click, left / right key click. PenMount has
also developed touch gestures for convenient
use in most applications. The upcoming
latest PenMount universal driver will let
you perform single touch gesture even
without the Tablet PC system, all you need
is the PenMount Gesture provided in
thedriver.
(2) Touch Digitizer Driver
PenMount Touch Digitizer driver presently
supports only PenMount 6000 USB; and it is
compliant to Microsoft’s Tablet PC feature
of HID report descriptor. It supports
Windows 7 gestures such as Flicks.
In the lastest version of PenMount Windows
Universal Driver with PenMount Gesture
application program, besides the capability
of performing the Flick feature of Windows
7, we also developed 7 of our very own
gestures, such as image zoom in, zoom out,
rotate, close windows, and others. This
latest driver allows all existing in-use or
developing systems avail of these unique
gestures feature.
Furthermore, Windows 7 has the feature to
allow enlargement of its icon therefore
making touch to function better; they have
also added some dual-finger gestures such as
zoom in, zoom out, shift and rotate. Many
users have shown great interest in these
touch gestures function, as they feel it
provides convenience and naturally
spontaneous touch function. However, this
kind of dual touch gestures needs to be
supported not only by the driver but by the
touch sensor as well; and PenMount is
pleased to announce its resistive
Multi-Finger Touch Solution supports the
multiple touch input features of Windows 7.
