Nowadays, multi-touch is a very popular
topic in the market, with many system
integrators researching and developing
products to incorporate with multi-touch
function.There is several touch technologies
listed in Microsoft WinHEC 2008, these
technologies are capable of executing
multi-touch function in Windows 7 operating
system. However, the popular resistive touch
technology is not listed therein. The
Multi-touch function of Windows 7 is an
extension of Vista touch screen function
application. To use single point touch or
multi touch functions, in Win 7, you only
need to install the Microsoft Pen Input
device; however, in Windows XP or Vista, it
is not easy to utilize the touch functions.
We are pleased to announce that we have come
up with a solution.
The PenMount team, in cooperation with AMT
(Apex Material Technology Corp.), has come
out with the multi-touch solution for
resistive touch screen for every x86
operating system platform. The PenMount
multi- touch controller supports up to 12
simultaneous touch points in Windows and
Linux platforms; customer will be able to
design their own application and execute
multi touch function on resistive touch
