Since the first PenMount touch screen
controller was released in 1992, the
PenMount team has tried its best to meet the
requirements of customer and market needs,
and already has many successful cases. All
over the world, customers can find PenMount
controllers used in every aspects of touch
screen applications, from industrial
products, automation, security, stock
keeping to consumer products like tablet PC
, UMPC and MID.
Currently the mainstream product of PenMount
touch screen controllers is the PenMount
6000 series. The PenMount 6000 series
product line includes the PenMount 6000
control IC, PM 6300, PM6500, PM6200 and
PM6202 control boards, with various
accessories made available for your
convenience and these are RS-232 cable, USB
cable, touch screen connectors, driver CD
and stylus.
The features of PenMount 6000 series
controller is listed below:

Supports both RS-232 and USB interfaces,
IC operating temperature is -40 to +85
centigrade, which meets most industrial
standards

Sample rate is 160 points per second,
good for handwriting.

MCU is QFN-28 pin package, including a
10 bit A/D converter, oscillator and
voltage regulator, this efficiently
lowers the cost of components, and save
circuit spaces suitable for x86 systems
with touch screen sizes of 4.8'', 5'',
7'' and 8.9''.

IC supports 4, 5 or 8 wire resistive
touch screens when circuit layout design
is patterned on the PenMount control
board, applicable for POS, Kiosk, HMI,
Panel PC and other industrial
applications.

Driver fully simulates mouse
operations.OS supported: DOS ( RS-232
only ) , Microsoft Windows 2000 / XP /
Vista / 7 (beta), Windows Embedded
Standard 2009, Windows Embedded CE 4.2 /
5.0 / 6.0, and many other Linux
distributions like Ubuntu 8.10, Fedora
10 and OpenSUSE 11.1.

USB driver supports Microsoft pen input
devices. When installing the PenMount
6000 USB Pen Input Device Driver under
Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition,
Windows Vista or Windows 7 (beta), user
can use the tablet PC features provided
by the Windows system.

Compatible with all, if not most of the
4, 5 or 8 wire resistive touch screens
in the market supported contact
resistance is up to 5KΩ.
The PenMount 6000 controller family includes

PenMount 6000 control IC: supports 4,5
and 8 wire touch screens, USB and RS-232
interfaces.

PM6300 control board: supports 4,5 and
8 wire touch screens, USB interface.

PM6500 / PM6200 control board: supports
4,5 and 8 wire touch screens, USB and
RS-232 interface.

PM6202 control board: supports 4,5 wire
touch screens, USB and RS-232 interface.
The mechanism of PM6300 and PM6500
controllers are similar to the other models
of PenMount controllers. They all both
support 4,5 and 8 wire resistive touch
screens, and have identical mounting holes
position. If you are currently using
PM9036BH, PM5126BH, PM51A5EH control boards,
and planning to update to PM6300 or PM6500
control boards, it won't require any
mechanism or connector changes, that is, you
can use the current USB, RS-232 cables and
touch screen connectors on the PM6300 and
PM6500 control boards.
The PM6200 control board has the same
features as PM6500 but with different
mechanism. The PM6200 control board has
identical mounting holes as that of 3M EXII
series and SC series control boards. If you
originally use 3M EXII controllers, the
PM6200 controller should be your best
choice! Additionally, the PM6200 control
board can directly connect to a 4 wire FPC
tail touch screen with 4 pin pith 1.0mm ZIF
connector.
The PM6202 controller also has the same
features as that of PM6500 but different
mechanism. With PM6202 control board, you
can connect to touch screens with AMP/Berg
heads 4 pin or 5 pin pitch 2.54 connectors.
You can also use 4 pin pitch 1.0mm ZIF
connectors to connect with the 4 wire FPC
tail on touch screens.
